Like governors and ???

I have a this Marshall 1960 Lead Slant lying around and I want to step it up a bit... I'm just sick of Celestion

I love my VHT Fatbottms with the P50E's and I like the sound of the Legend V128's but they dont come in 16 ohm which is what I need impeadance wise...

Any suggustions...?

thank you very much

G.

Governer's and Swamp Thangs or Texas Heats.

Go to the Eminence web site. They have all the speaker sound bytes.

Govs and Manowars. Its classic sounding. Basically your t75 x v30 sound

Wizard/swamp thing kicked ass. I thought the Texas heats were too veiled by the wizards.

Swamp Thangs for sure, especially for running with your Titty and ass amps!

the Manowars will cut your face off with the Marshall amps, but if you want some i'll sell you some.

i've run Governors and Swamp Thangs together for a long time, just fucking brutal with Rectos, Herberts, and amps that will move some air.

Nice!

I like SMOOTH brutality... V-30 sound great in the mids and all but they are fizzy and hard IMO...

I'm thinking Governors for sure hands with "Man o Whores" or "Swamp Thangs"... The Man o wars are su;pposed to be GT 75's? what are Swamp thangs like?

+1....WAYYYYYYYYYY bright speaker....I had the governor man o war x pattern for a while..and while it could take insane amounts of bass there was a high end shrillness I could never tame.....

I would go for a Governor X Wizard setup. (Similar to a V30 X GH30)

the manwhores being like 75's, is a myth! :gethim:

the manwhores just have way way more high end than 75's.

the Swamp Thangs will move lots of low end, more than any other speaker i've owned. the Swamp Thangs are kindda mid scooped, but have a really nice sweet sounding top end.

I love the 16ohm Legends in my 4x12, fantastic, even response, works great with high gain, "modern" tone. I did not like them in a 2x12 because it felt like the lows were breaking up too early. Of course I was running the 8 ohm version in the 2x12 which may sound a little different.
I do really like the Swamp Thangs in the 2x12. They can take a lot of lows before they break up. This works really well for mid gain stuff, the bottom stays tight and punchy without flubbing out while you are still getting grit in the mids and highs.
The Governors really work well for a Marshall-y "classic" kinda vibe without a nasty, ice-picky mid range spike.
I tried a 4x12 cab loaded with these, they sound great real loud.
Same thing with the 4x12 cab loaded with Legends, the more you can crank it the sweeter it gets.
The Swamp Thangs sound sweet and full at a lower volume than it takes the Legends and Governors, which may feel a little brittle and sterile at low volumes.

I think the Wizards are pretty cool too... needs to find out what the main diff is between them and Swap Thnags is..

WHERE DID YOU GET 16 OHM LEGENDs?
Are they V128's?
I only see 8ohm Legends on the eminence website...

lol..

I'm not a Man o' whore expert but that's what I keep reading about them on the web...

I'm thinking about Goobners and Wizards or Goobners and Swamp Wangs...

I'm telling you, The wizard swamp thing mix kills, the wizard will drown out any speaker you mix it with other than the tone tubby ceramic and the swamp thing.

I'm going with governor's and swap thangs...

IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER...???

I've got some 16 ohm swampies that have little use, been in a stored cab for the last two years - I can pull them out and sell them to you if interested.
