thats actually kinda kool. i like how it has been split. it would make for easier transport thats for sure. i know victim5150 owns one, and could give a better idea of the actual tones, but like gbsmusic said, the cleans are almost useless, but the gain is incredible
I always liked my 5150 combo. Nice and aggressive as expected from a 5150. The only problem is that they weigh in at about 90 lbs if I remember correctly.
i dunno why, but i agree as well. not much in circuit design differences, but there is a definately tonal difference. i prefer the combo, but not enough to sell my 5150 II.
I had a 5150 combo...what an awesome amp. I traded it for a 5150 II head and tone-wise it was a bad trade. That damn combo must have weighed 500 pounds, or so it seemed.
I took the combo to a Sam Ash to trade, and while they tested it and subsequently offered me some absurd trade in value, a guy who heard it ended up doing a deal with me in the parking lot. I got the new 5150 II head for a song, but I think the combo walked all over it in terms of tone.
