Not many good clips, but plenty of positive reviews. Does it roar like the big boys? Obviously, I suspect the lows aren't as present, but a good old 10-band in the loop fixes that!

"Thejay" has a comparison with a JJ jr on YouTube and it sounded close but I think he had it cranked. Seemed like I remember someone saying they are really loud and didn't play well with fryette power station

The Jay's videos typically sound pretty generic, so I take them with a grain of salt.

I had the SV20H, and it didn't sound too good with the PS-2. But, it was more the amp itself. It was loose, flubby, and ridiculously loud. I the JCM should be a good bit tighter, and has a master volume. I know the Mini Jube sounded killer when I had one, and I should have kept it!

I had one for a while. It was good, but I liked my JVM and other amps better.

For what it’s worth, here was my play through:

Yeah, I did catch your clips. Honestly, the Mini Jube sounds so much better in most clips. Seems to have a bit more kerrang to it.

This is w/ a Strat, preamp at 3/4. With a Vibe, then a TS type boost-

I got some fun tones out of the one I had. But I’d rather just have a 2204 honestly. The SC20 still needs to be loud to sound right and doesn’t have the sonic footprint of a 2203/2204. Cool amp nonetheless!

I agree, just get a full power 2204 at that point. If anything, these clips solidify what a monster of an OD the Savage Drive is if you want to turn your 2204 into a thrash machine.

Would you say the 2204 works better at lower volumes than the SC20?

I am sure both sound best cranked, I mean they are Marshalls after all.

I think the clips for these sound pretty damn good regardless. Obviously not the roar of the big brother but still has that Marshall bark when pushed.

Great amp if your a vintage Plexi guy and want something more manageable.
Awesome for classic rock.
If you're a modern metal player, probably best to looks elsewhere.
Love mine!

I have a Ceriatone 2204 on the way(I'm putting ClassicTone iron in it but Nik's crew is building it). Im hoping it jives with the Fryette PS2. Im also getting a Caldera kit from V2 amplification that Im looking forward to. Im building it to use EL34's and I think it will work out to 20-30 watts. I was in the camp that really dug Reza's vids with it and Jerevil's demo was good as well. Im hoping these scratch my Marshall itch for a bit

But if you get the 20 watt JCM let us know what you think. My JJ jr. is pretty fucking loud but it goes from quiet to wife-yelling-at-me loud pretty quick. Still on the fence on keeping it. I keep considering selling it for a 20 watt Splawn Nitro or a 20 watt Silver jubilee

I know I say this a lot, but look at the Splawn Supersport. 1st gear OD1 nails that kind of stuff properly dialed in.

I honestly would love to hear mine next to a JJ Jr.

Napalm- you aren't far from me, if you want to head up and check out the super sport, PM me.

Does that have 6V6's?

Agreed, I use mine for old school Marshall sounds. I like the lower wattage setting, it's loud if need be.

Yeah I would love to hear the Supersport compared to the JJ jr. Everyone always put Friedman on such a high pedalstool and not that the amps arent fantastic but I dont think it smokes any of the Splawn amps Ive had granted the JJ jr is only 20 watts vs the 100 watt Nitro and Quick Rod I had.
