Anybody use the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor plug-in on their tracks?

I've got the chance to use the real deal in the past but today I'm using the plug in on a bunch of various tracks we are mixing down. I love that piece of gear. It can really make your guitar or other instrument pop. Nice tone shaping, giving the lead guitar a nice bite that makes harmonics jump from the mix. Getting that Marley era Tosh tone on the rhythm guitar. Pretty versatile piece of gear. I know a lot of guys play heavier stuff but it might be something worth looking into. I've had good luck with it every time!!!

I have Shadow Hills pres that I bought in 2008 and I probably use them more than any other piece of gear.

The Mastering Compressor and the Class A version, I use it in every project, every day of work. It's on my 2-bus template, so literally everything I do goes through it. I also like it for drum overheads, drum loops, and background vocals. Great stuff.

Class A. For a digital crap it is actually a pretty nice program. The kid has it on his setup so that's what I've been using on a bunch of tracks. I got to try the rack piece in a studio in '14 owned by George Harris who is pretty well thought of in the Tampa area and tbh had both an amazing outboard gear collection and some pretty amazing engineering skills especially if you like a rocking mix. He really has some amazing ears. That Shadow Hills and a couple sweet pre's were basically in arm's reach when you were seated in that studio, lol.
 
This is coming in super handy on my final mixes. It def helps add that "live" sound back to the guitar or give it some extra bite or presence in the mix. It's like the ultimate tone sweetener. Can't recommend this enough. If I was assembling a studio on a healthy budget it would pretty much be the first piece of outboard gear.

I'm not recommending plug-ins, I'm recommending the ten thousand dollar rack unit but since that's a little rich for the blood the plug in does do a pretty nice job. Please note what @rushcentrale posted:

I will second every word of this. Absolutely outstanding addition to a recording setup.

Guitars, drum overheads, vocals and as a general compressor on the whole song. I'm planning on sending my recordings out for mastering since no one here at home really has the ability to properly master stuff yet.

@Kraku this is something that will probably help you get what you are looking for tbh though I know it's not the approach you want to take. At least file it away for later consideration.
