How do the Soldano 4x12 cabs stack up to the VHT/FRYETTE cabs Fat bottom-Deliverance

I do not care for them myself. They're not horrible but not great either. Search for a thread on them as its been discussed before. I have (5) 4x12's, Marshall, Bogner, VHT, Splawn and Soldano w/30's and its the weakest cab of the bunch. It is made with thinner birch and and a bit smaller that normal sized 4x12's.

Obviously I'd take a VHT cab over Soldano cab any day of the week. Best bet is for YOU to play through one and if YOU like it, get it and don't worry what other people think, its YOUR money ;)

The reason why I ask is I heard that both the Soldano and Fryette cabs are made by the same company

they may be made by the same company but to different specs. Soldano cabs are smaller that traditional 4x12's and my VHT

i use a soldano slo amp.... im left with 2 4x12 cabs.... a bogner 4x12 with greenbacks and a soldano with the eminence.. BOTH are xellent cabs ... The soldano is just the same high quality as the bogner but smaller and lighter and sounds more modern and foward due to the front loading of the speakers.....
im afraid i havnt heard any other amp sound any good w/ the soldano cab..... them cabs seem to be specifically made for the soldano sound and they do that job 100% exellent...
if i had to be left with one cab and i had the proper transport space id keep the bogner w/ greenies just my prefference but i own a 3 series bmw and only the soldano cab will fit in the trunk but i sounds killer with my SLO....
mike soldano knows what hes doing 100% so dont listen to internet jabber and go out and try one.....better still buy one of his amps too

I would tend to agree that cabs are match to the amp. All of my 4x12's keep matched with the same make amp. I don't hate my Soldano cab, I keep it thinking I'll get a SLO to go with it. I occasionally use it with a Mesa/Boogie DC-5. Agree also to try one, depending on what amp you use with it you may or may not like it. Use your own ear and make up your own mind ;)

I am reasonably sure that Soldano makes their own cabs. The box is up there with the same SLO build quality, especially when you take a look inside at the joinery work and baffles. It is a little smaller in dimensions than most other front loads. That said, I can't stand them or the original Soldano X12000 Emi speakers - sounds like it has a blanket over it and they just don't work out for me at all. They are the "Acme Tone Sucker". For an SLO, it's rearload and GB's/H30's all day for me.

Any 4x12 that has the grill cloth held on by 4 or 6 patches of velcro...I avoid...

But, it's really good Velcro.....

It's more the speakers than the cab though. Maybe my hearing is tuned differently than others. I can make better tone with my ass cheeks
