Anyone compare BK Cold sweat with Holy Diver?

No, but I sent an email to Tim about the Nailbomb last night, asking:
do you make any pickup that is similar in tightness to the Nailbomb, but has just a little big more bottom end (which still remains tight)?

He told me to try the Holy Diver

I'm looking at a set of BKP's for my LP's... not to hijack the thread, but has anyone tried the Aftermath?

We put Allen head screws in my Nailbomb when I ordered it and it gave it a boost in the lowend but is still just as tight :)

Guy at HC got one and made clips. He said it was great.

How do they sound/compare to each other?

had them in the same guitar
quite different pickups

holy diver is very fat and open
more modern sounding
low end is tight for an alnico pickup (tighter than a JB), but not as tight as the nailbomb
the holy diver has amazing string separation and clarity through high gain, the best lead tone and the fattest and easiest pinch harmonics I ever had
loved it for Alice In Chains stuff
better than the motor city I still have
the afwayu is higher output, more dry sounding and definitely more aggressive
it does have a similar low middy thing, though, but with the aggression of the nailbomb in the high end

the cold sweat is very different beast
it's a bit hotter, a lot tighter and a lot brighter
the midrange is crunchy and ceramic sounding, but very controlled
not fat like the diver and not grindy like a duncan distortion or gibson 500t
it really matches my '73 les paul, cause unlike most medium/high output models, it doesn't boost the low end and mids of the guitar
just adds some nice sparkle to the top end without sounding brittle and spikey
it reminds me of a mid term between the miracle man, painkiller and nailbomb (had those in les pauls too)
not bass heavy like the miracle man, not middy like the painkiller, no scooped alnico 5 PAF mids like in the nailbomb, but retains a bit of each of those models (bright edge, aggressive mids, tight bass), and cleans up better than the other ceramics

it doesn't sound like the gibson dirty fingers as it has very different specs (different wire insulation, wire gauge, dc resistance, magnet configuration), but it can sound a lot like John Sykes in a les paul
actually, it reminds me more of Dimebag Darrell, although it's a much superior pickup in every aspect compared to a bill lawrence
in a mahogany guitar, it can nail Darrell's lead and harmonic tones and works great for most classic thrash metal, hard rock and NWOBHM, especially some old Testament and Judas Priest stuff

my band plays some Tool/Deftones/A Perfect Circle/Corrosion of Conformity/Incubus influenced stuff (yeah, almost contradictory, huh?) and it's doing it great for me

BTW is the CS more compressed sounding?

more crunchy, but not more compressed

it's like the painkiller without the mid spike and a bit less high output and surgical
if you want more power, mids and compression, try the ceramic nailbomb, which is an overwound version of the cold sweat
I think you would enjoy the new aftermath model

Thanks. I love the Dimarzio EVO, but I want something a little less screamy/brittle, and more focused.
