If there has been anyone that's compared the tones on the new Mini Dirty Shirley to the regular Dirty Shirley 40 watt amp? Really interested in the Mini DS and wanting to know if it can ger that "big fat" classic rock tone like the DS 40 watter. Of course I know there is compromise with the EL84's and it's never be as huge sounding as big bottle tubes but just wondering about the tone freq the DS Mini occupies.

Check out this video if you haven't, the amp sounds amazing, and of course it's recorded and produced very well I'm sure. Haven't had gas like this since my BE100 purchase almost 2 years ago.

I can only compare the DS mini to the SS100 obviously the SS is a Beast! But through the same 4x12 cabs the DS mini is Fantastic very addictive tones and a Wide array of tones from glassy cleans to raunchy rock! I did also get the matching 1x12 cab and its WOW! I cannot believe how big of sound comes from that little set up!!! Forgot to mention there's more than enough low end thump out of the DS mini to bring a great big grin to the face:) I highly recommend the DS mini to me it's the Perfect grab and go set up that sacrifices nothing

Sounds cool. So the 3 way gain switch, is it not switchable by footswitch or do you have to flip it by hand? Haven't seen any footswitches with this amp. Even though it's a true one ch amp, switching the modes would be cool. But maybe finding the right balance of gain will work for guitar volume rollin clean to OD.

yeah the three way is hand switch only....i trend towards the down position seems to be the middle gain as far as tone and feel. Just using the guitar volume is crazy good once you dial in the eq gain etc...!

I have a mini. It's killer. I'd heard a lot of talk of how Dave put a lot of effort into making it sound big and full...and damn he succeeded.

I have it up for the sale at the emporium on TGP, but the more I play the more I change my mind about letting it go.

And yea...gain switch down is where it's at.

Why you selling your new Mini Shirley? Just wondering about the amp tone and feature wise what did you not like about it?
