Sounds a lot like the fortin modded 1987 I had. Tight and bright grind. Wasn't my cup of tea. I'll stick with my other EVH amps

I don't love it by the Blue channel

It almost sounds like Recto gain

IMO preamp gave and 34 will only work so long
Marshall plexi rely on some power amp compression but when the preamp is so compressed already
It's not s good match
This will likely hiss and feedback like crazy

I haven't gotten to try it yet, but a good buddy from Fender got one a month ago, has the EVH 100w and 50w versions and says the EL34 one is his favorite. He raves about it. I've already got too many amps, so I won't be a customer. But I look forward to trying it out.

I thought it sounded pretty good. For a less than a grand, you can get a 6534 and be right there.

That being said, I don't see all the negative reviews, sounded good to me.

When I first heard the standard EVH 100w / 50w I was so stoked.

The 100S was impressive but I'll never trade the classic 5150 for it.

The EL34 not convinced me at all. So dry and artificial. If I listen with eyes closed I can swear I hear a distortion pedal or a transistor amp. The Peavey 6534 is 12 classes above.
