Anyone done this? Amp > hotplate line out > fx > amp > cab?

I'm going totally wet, just using the hotplate as a load/line out.

Interesting aside - I have an old Juice Extractor in my closet, grabbed it at a pawnshop for $50 last year and forgot about it. Hm... may hook that up and see what it does. :D

Too late for the gig today, so I'm going stripped down - Guitar > Boss SD (modded) > 72 Marshall > 72 Cab turned around backwards. It is kinda nice to have such a simple setup :)

I tried the cab facing backwards a few times....couldn't stand it. The Juice Extractor is really cool. I like it over the HP as a load, the parametric eq and speaker curves are great. Just leave the top of the unit accessible to air, they get really hot. I think I burned mine up with the 1959RR.

Try running into your Jubilee's FX loop return. The 2/ 90 /2 is a cool power amp, but needs really opened up to sound good.(imo).

Try using a simple 1X12 cabinet and set the hot plate to power up the 1x12 a little bit. For some reason the sound is a better when the hotplate doesnt take 100% of the load. Maybe I am nuts, but I hear a difference even if the 1x12 is facing the floor to reduce its affect on the overall sound. Then use the usual slave set-up... After tinkering with all of the slaving, I tend to like mixing in the original tone with the slaves wet/dry.

Also, the Metro Loop doesnt always fit the older stock Marshalls. I wanted to add the Metro Loop to my 72 SL and it is too close to the preamp tubes...YMMV.

Cool, I'll try that at home. I have a marshall plexi kit that I am going to rewire like the '72 - may put the metro loop in that if it fits, I'll have to measure. that's good to know about it not fitting. I'm sure mine wouldn't fit either.
