Anyone dye their rosewood fretboard with that higgins fountain pen black india ink? How did it come out? Did it significantly darken the wood comparable to an ebony board? I know they dye those too :)

Thanks.

Fibbibings black leather die. On a few squires. Works great, just take time and be careful. Shit doesn't come off of anything once you touch it with it.

Use a Minwax Ebony stain pen. Works like a charm.

Hmmm. I should've tried that. I used a different Minwax stain I had laying around and it only made it tad darker. I'm going to try that pen.

It works great. Turns rosewood almost black but looks natural.

Did you do a whole fretboard with 1 pen? Put tape over the frets?

Easily do whole board, maybe 2. Wiped right off the frets and inlays, but they weren't clay. Pen edge is pretty sharp so I got minimal on the sides of frets.

Fiebings black leather dye is what I used on my Warmoth build (both as the black stain for the body and to darken the ebony fretboard. Worked great!

What's with the obsession with ebony boards  I much prefer rosewood & maple
