Just curious. Mine has been especially bad today. I have a high pitched ringing in both of my ears. I was playing my Les Paul this afternoon at bedroom volume and it was uncomfortable with tone knobs on 5. I plugged the Strat in afterwards. It was worse and even gave me a bad headache. Rolling off the tone on the Strat hurt less, but I hate muddying it up. Just felt like bitching a little since only fellow guitarists would understand how much it sucks.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one... between my military service, and the loud amps, that incessent ringing is a fucking drag.

Yep. Between loud car stereos when i was a kid, concerts, and addictive tone from gibson, mesa, and bogner...i got the 24 hour whistling.

It's a real fucking pain in the ass. I was on chemotherapy when I was 17 and that's what caused it. I'm 27 now and I only expect it to get worse. Keeping my fingers crossed for some stem cell breakthrough or something.

i got scared straight when i was sitting outside with my dad and he couldnt hear the crickets at all. he could hear other things that werent as loud as the crickets but they were in a frequency that he could hear and the crickets werent. my dad isnt a musician though, he shot guns a lot without hearing protection

im young and dont have any type of hearing problems yet but im scared to death about it. specifically that i wont be able to dial in tones right, as in, i will dial in to much high, or low because i cant hear that frequency. or something like you mentioned also.

i wear earplugs at all concerts and never have my music loud but im just starting a zero tolerance policy now. 16-20, i was playing shows/having band practice/going to concerts sometimes with, sometimes without ear plugs. 20-now, i wore ear plugs to almost every show/practice but i would occasionally take them out at concerts and still listened to loud music. now i follow a strict 100% low volume life style, lol, but i know it takes a couple of years for the damage to really take effect.

i hope its a better day tomorrow..

man, my heart goes out to you

Had it as long as I can remember. From when I was little. Doesn't really bother me a little background noise and I don't really notice it but its always there.
Have to wear earplugs at concerts clubs etc... Gets real bad after loud noise. And I chose to work around jet engines the last 20 years. Go figure.

Yeah, but I've had high end loss since I was young. In 2nd grade they asked my mom if I was around guns. It's hard for me to hear everything in noisy places or foreign accents sometimes on cell phones. I sleep with a noise maker that sounds like the ocean. Hard for me to sleep without some kind of white noise. Mostly I don't notice it, but it's always there.

Yes i have it. Mine was caused by a medication reaction during surgery. I never had it before then, and afterwards i get it in spells. It is a bit disheartening.

Yes, I always had a low freq tone in the right ear and since ~20 years a high whistle in the left.

The left one is for me a very good indicator for stress or a upcoming flu etc. So if its getting worse I always think about what my body wants to tell me.

Yup; left ear, for almost 10 months. It's annoying but I only really notice first thing in the morning and just before I sleep.

Had it for about 30 years now. It's become so loud that if I am walking down a city street, I can still hear it along with all the traffic noise etc

Hearo's have helped keep flare ups with the headache down. Mine cane from gunfire and probably jet noise. Concerts didn't help. I use hearo's to jam.

Ant degree of sinus blockage makes it worse though.

Yup....add me to the list.
Ruptured my ear drum back in the Navy....2 surgeries on it. Patched up...
but the ringing never goes away.
Sucks for sure.

They're already regrowing cochlea in lab mice, with returned hearing from complete deafness.
