Anyone else into Cannibal Corpse tones?

Frome where do you have the Info that they used Diezel Amps on this record?
It’s been in guitar world and lots of interviews . In fact the Herbert he uses was always right by him in the studio interviews . It’s not just in this album . But 100 percent Herbert was a few albums . Maybe on the new one too . But il not 100 on that

Here some live settings

I’ll find the interviews since it seems you don’t believe me . But it’s like Dimebag using Wizards . Everyone said I was crazy until I showed Vinnie Paul saying they used wizards almost always in the studio

its not i dont believe you, its just i follow him pretty close as well and at least with cannibal he says in that vid hes done five albums with them and all have been rectos, ive never heard him talk about or seen a herbert in any of his studio vids or any of the cannibal recording vids. a herbert would be much higher on my list of interest if i knew he was pushing them. i just looked at his studios gear list and theres no diezel :dunno:

Saw them open for meshuggah and thought their tone was super flubby and undefined- Meshuggah sounded way better on axe fx and you could actually hear what notes they were playing lmao

In one video Rutan is saying that when he was invited to join CC they told him they could work with Marshalls if he wanted but he declined because he knew Rectos are defining for CC. Not contradicting anyone because I don't have inside info, but just pointing out that's kinda what they're known for since they started using them.

So many concerts I went to as a youngster and the sound was dialed in for the headliner, the other bands just did as best as they could.

this is from Violence Unimagined.

So what kind of gear did you end up using?

“I would say Mesa has dictated Cannibal’s sound for a long time, whether it’s a Dual Rec or Triple Rec. We’re always combining amps – I like to do that for different dynamics and textures.
“In the past, it’s been a Dual Rec and a Triple, or a Triple with a Mark V. For Kill, it was a Triple Rec and an Engl. But usually it’s one amp that really defines the tone – after spending a bunch of days trying different heads and cabinets owned by Rob [Barrett, co-guitarist] and I, there was one Dual Rec that we liked most.

“We always quad track, so it would be left and right with the Dual, and then another amp for tracks three and four, which ended up being an original 5150 and a Maxon ST-9 Pro+.”

I can’t speak for recorded tones, a million things can happen in a studio, but boosted recto has been their stage rigs for many many years. Honestly, live sometimes it’s a total can of bees. Kinda depends on the venue.

You can’t actually see them recording the Diezel Herbert in the videos of this album
