Thinking of grabbing one for going direct live and mic'ing the cab up. I feel like it would keep things more consistent, question is how do they sound ?

Let me know if you rock one... thanks!

how do you deal with phase issues? meaning live, or recording, is it usually out of phase with the cabinet mic's ? I'm thinking of blending the palmer with mic/mics

I use it primarily for recording, so no phase issues there. The one time I was able to use it live (read: Soundguy at the club knew what it was). The friends I had there (who also play guitar) said my sound was thick and punchy. But I also play Diezel so that may have helped :)

It's also been doing some good things in the studio where flipping the phase is super easy.

very cool and it does hi gain stuff well i take ?

Yes. I have always kept one in my gig bag just in case sound guy couldn't mic - now as a back up to my LIVE.

I used one or sometimes two of them, before the Two Notes came along. If you are using it for DI on just one amp/cab, there won't be any phasing issues. To me, they get a better DI tone than the Radial JDX. Like David said, its a good tool to keep in the bag.
