They are playing San Francisco in September and I am going. I saw them play in 94 or 95 I think it was. My entire family went, and damn, The Eagles put on a good show, all of them heavy musicians. They were SPOT ON and everything about their show was great. My mom is a big fan so they were always playing at my house. Plus, Joe Walsh is an awesome guitar player who can cut it really strict!

This tour will be different though as Glenn Frey's son is taking his place and Vince Gill is taking Don Felder's spot. At first I found that somewhat alarming, and I went to youtube and checked out Vince Gill playing guitar. He is a great player for sure. But still, I would rather watch Felder playing the solo in Hotel California. I really like Joe Walsh's licks in that solo. Such great feel.

I normally prefer much harder rock, but its cool to see legends like the Eagles play.

Anyone else going? What do you think of Vince Gill taking Felders spot? Glenn Frey's son?

At first i thought it was terrible to continue without Frey, but after letting it simmer I get why they would want to. The Eagles name will do much better business than Don Henly and friends. I think them playing with Vince Gill is a huge plus. I had assumed Glenn Freys son was stepping aside for Vince Gill to come in, but hearing they are both performing is interesting. I might go just to see Gill play, he's a hell of a musician.

When I first saw the title and started reading your thread I thought it was in reference to the Eagles as in the Philadelphia Eagles

I saw them back in 02 and they were perfect live. Vince Gill is a perfect choice for lead opposite Walsh, he is a monster player and has a great voice. I saw him back in the 90s live and I was blown away at his lead playing. Should be a cool show.

Vince Gill is a great choice to join them. You’re going to get some of the Bernie Tele chops back in the fold. Felder is a great player but they lost a bit of the country feel they originally had.

Actually I think Deacon (Glenn's son) sounded great. You can hear a little of his father but he definitely has his own voice. I'd go see them.

I'm going to watch the Pats DESTROY some Eggles...LOL FLAME ON PHILLY FANS !!!

Vince Gill is that rare breed of a-list singer and player.

And could Corrina look any more like Amy? Sheesh.

I'm debating. Wish Felder was going to be with them as he was such a huge part of the band. But, Gill is a hella musician and player so I might go. Have seen them live a couple of times and they are phenomenal.

If they tour through Chicago, I may go see them. So many classic groups seem to be hanging it up these days.

Will definitely be different without Glenn Frey.
