I saw a natural topped EBMM Axis that may be calling my name.

Any advice on what to look for, or avoid? Particularly good years, etc.

Thanks!

I've owned two and both were great guitars. I was concerned about the unfinished natural necks, but they held up as good or better than my GMW's and I'm a huge fan of GMW guitars.

They're all good...period. I've owned/played many and haven't come across a bad one. I currently have an EVH that is pretty much the best guitar I've ever laid my hands on

I have a SS that I've had now about a month. I'm really liking the guitar. the action is excellent and the stock PUPs are very descent.

I think they are excellent quality/sounding guitars. I just didn't bond with the dinky neck and frets with the round broomstick-like back contour.

Same here, great guitars but I did not like the frets or neck profile. Of course I like wizard necks so dont take my comment as negative.

I love them. I've had a red flame top for years and its been a real workhorse guitar. Keep in mind they are smaller, and the neck is very unique, so only you would be able to tell if you like it.

I don't think there are any good/bad years or any consistent issues with the guitar. Mine has developed a scratchy volume pot over the years, but I have used the hell out of the guitar. I have a Wolfgang Standard as well, but prefer the Axis over it.

I've had a black EVH since '91 and it's the one guitar I will never sell. It's dinged up and everything but I love that guitar. i've only had to have a refret done on it in 17 years.

I have a 1991 EB EVH guitar - great product !!!
EBMM build great quality instruments!!

"I never knew, until this very day........"

The neck of the EVH is what I fell in love with!!

I then had to get new necks from Warmoth for my strats and my other guitars. There is an incredible builder in Toronto who matched the contour perfect to the EVH on all the necks!!!

(lol... He "fixed" the Les Paul neck too- although it looks like hell from the back, feels like silk tho!!!)
