Put it this way, I can tell you the Cornford patch does not sound like mine and I have yet to hear my Bruno in any of the clean stuff either. But that's what the new features are supposed to do handle now, if you want. It seems you have now, a bunch of starting points, that are pretty good and you can tweak like crazy still, if you want. But with the new feature, maybe you could duplicate some sounds too. I'm not sure I'm feeling that energized to do that yet though. I'm thinking I may just lay back a bit and see what some other guys come up with. I think all these updates have wore me out a bit.

So 6.0 doesn't mirror your Cornford well, or older firmware versions?

No, but I'd be kind of disappointed if it did. Getting sounds that my amps can't do is what i'm looking for in this thing. I'd just like them to be on the same level quality wise and all.

Totally get it...that's always the way I used mine, as well.

I'm just a little surprised since they really seem to be touting the accuracy of the new models in 6.0

Sounds more open and angry in mids on the Marshall models, which is all I have really messed with so far.
I dont use tone match, or cab sims all that stuff is too complicated for my cromagnon brain.

The Rectifier models sound more ;like the FAS 6160 now. I had two patches that were clearly different, that now sound much more similar than before. Eh, still sounds good though, maybe needs some tweaking to get back to the rectifier sound.

I plugged mine in direct now

Get mine later today. Interested in the Tone matching

Anxious to hear your thoughts; you've had a couple of them, no?

I just did my first "Tone Match"... hooooooly crap it's close. I'm still playing around with it though.

Do you have any way to post clips?

Interesting that you didn't notice much of a difference with the amps, but the tone match seems to be working well for you...the hype seemed center more around the new amps (at least from the FAS camp).

Go to youtube and search the guitarist and isolated guitar tracks. This gives you a better tone match.

I think it's a great piece of gear too, just the hype around it gets rediculous. Would like to get another one someday....

Everytime a new version is released you will hear how incredible it is and he much better it is. It's been this way ever since I first started using it many years ago.

This is how it used to be back in the day when I used the Line 6 Vetta. Every time Line 6 released a firmware update you would read how much more realistic things were. I never really heard much difference.

By no means is this a comment on the quality of the products (Line 6 or FAS). In fact, I would love to own an Axe Standard for late night use. I just think we are always looking for "something better". At times, we can project what we want to perceive as opposed to what it actually is. I'm over thinking it again. Just play your gear and be happy!

Hopefully I'll get to try 6.0 soon with my friend's Axe 2. I'm going to try the Kemper but a big part of me still wants an Axe 2 lol. We'll see what happens.....30 day return policy for the Kemper......and I'm still in line for the coupon... ;)
