I noticed this morning, before leaving late for work ;) , that if you press the mfc101 preset button a second time you can have it go to another preset, like your main amp  very cool. Also great for A/B ing.

If this is how this is going to go, it's not simply another AFX update. This is revolutionary, as is the Kemper. And I'm not saying that as a fanboy, because I own neither.
They sound pretty good but I still can hear a little of that grainy top end I associate with the axe. Have been listening to as many clips an certainly they d improve the sound without a doubt but still ha that axe sound to me. I prefer the top end on the Kemper still That is not meant to take away what they did TI improve the axe

Those are pretty dang good. I wonder what Mr FLAC says about these tone matches coming from a crappy audio source?

Better tell Jamie you are not getting a cab since you need to fund an AxeFX. :D

I don't own either at this point, so no bias here, but if the Axe gets THAT close to matching (and I'm sure it can be adjusted just like the Kemper), for me there would be no contest. The feature set on the Axe is huge, by comparison.

Yeah got to pick what Floats your boat. I mean if trying to exactly copy a sound is what someone wants it might be eAsier be done with the axe. I am more about finding my sound and i am more then happy with my Kemper an the sound I am getting and feel no need to get an axe t this point for my needs. B

I've been really busy with school and am still on 3.0, I really need to update this, lol!

I am definitely not being snarky when I say I am glad I do not have your ears, because I can't hear that at all.

Here's a fast and dirty TM of Bark At The Moon...I know I know but it's a standard tune that everyone knows.

I did this super fast and didn't bother trying to add the weird little modulation thing from the original tracks.

The first part of the clip is the original track, then a stop then my attempt. I should have pulled back the bottom end slightly on my preset.

Sounds badass. How does that all work? First of all did you isolate the guitar track on the song and if so what did you use for that? Secondly does the Axe 2 just choose the appropriate amp model automatically and/or stomp boxes like an OD or something when you tone match?

I found the isolated track on YT. Make a basic preset with Amp and cab blocks get and get sound in the general vicinity of the track(very general), add Tone Match block to preset. Feed isolated guitar track of choice into the AxeFx via USB, choose USB as the INPUT on the AxeFx, press X on the front panel press X again after a few secs, change INPUT on Axe to front panel press Y on front panel, play for a few secs, press Y again. Press ENTER on Axe FX front panel. Change to next page in TM block tweak if necessary. Save bingo done.
Easy as pie.

Thanks Mark, that's what I need to hear. Just the quick and easy procedure. Question, how isolated does the guitar track need to be for good results? I mean can you use a CD or do the other instruments screw with the tone matching?

I finally got to the upgrade, no time to play with it yet. This will really help, thanks again.

Best results would be an isolated guitar track or guitar intro to a song or passage with nothing else but guitar. You can also TM your tube amps which is pretty cool.

yeah not trying to be a douche or anything, I have listened to over a dozen new clips with the 6.0. Overall the modeling is a nice step up. i am listening on Genelec monitors, KRK monitors and a nice set up desktop speakers. I had the standard and there was something about the top end that i didn't like, and I am still hearing that somewhat harsh top end specially on the brighter vox type clips. Having the axe for YEARS, I have concluded that it has its own sound that sometimes just doesn't sit in a mix as well as i have with other gear. Owning the kemper, i much prefer the top end that unit has, more open and less grainy. but that is just my preference and what I am hearing, not that i haven't heard harsh kemper clips, just overal i like how the top end is represented in the kemper. But axe is an amazing peice of gear, just I am preffering something else at the moment

Somewhat OT, but is there a list somewhere that details what models/profiles come with the Kemper already? I saw somewhere mentioned that there were like 200 already included.

it comes with a bunch, but there are like 1000 amps available now to download, pretty awesome. Both boxes have their strengths still and its awesome 6.0 has improved and made it even better for those who own it. i have tons of clips of various kemper stuff, PM me if you are interested in hearing more

This is pretty close, wish the parts where a little longer but it is what it is.......

I dig my Axe but I dont love it like cult member's love their leader, its a box that makes getting the type of noise's I want pretty easy.
I really want to try a Kemper but I have a feeling that will take a while.

Im really glad the Kemper came along because it pushed all the other company's to step up their game and when that happens we all win.

I hear you (and I'm not sure I'll buy either one), but that's as impressive (to me) as the Kemper was, without a doubt.

that is VERY VERY close tonally. super cool. whether or not I like that sound is a different story and if thats really the original as labeled, the tonematch has more clarity in the chunky, but tonally its pretty spot on from the original..
