Anyone heard anything about the Friedman BE-100 pedal?

im wondering if the be 100 will have more gain than my small box?
 
I was lucky enough to speak to Mr. Friedman himself today. He was so nice and kind enough to take his time to answer my questions.

He said the pedals would be released in mid-August. No firm date has been set. No pre-orders. Also, he said that they are making enough pedals that anyone who wants one will be able to get it without having to get on some sort of a waiting list.

So just over 1 month to go. I'm definitely getting the BE-OD the day it's released. Everything I've seen and heard from the demo's are fantastic. And if they are the same quality as the amps, it'll be a huge success.

Plus, after meeting Mr. Friedman, he just makes me want to buy his products even more.
 
If the BE100 pedal sounds as good as it does in the few short demos I will get one. That is if the pricing isn't insane.

The BE-OD and Sir Compre pedals are being priced at $219 and the two tube pedals, Fuzz Fiend and MC Drive, are being priced at $299. At least, those were the prices being reported when they were introduced.

In my opinion, if the BE-OD sounds as good as it does in any of the demos, they would sell damn near the same amount at nearly a 40% higher price point. Who here would buy it at $219, but not $299 if the demos are accurate? I sure as hell would.

Even if the wanted to aim for an elite price point, like around $399, they would still sell a ton of them if they market as "get the Overdrive/Distortion sound of the Friedman BE-100 from a pedal into any clean amp". Plus it helps that they are authentic Friedman pedals, not just some pedal maker who went for a "Friedman-in-a-box" pedal.
 
No WAY it's worth more than $200. For $500 you can have your amp modded by Friedman and Co!
 
Is this like the Bogner pedals in that it's essentially a transistor (instead of tube) version of the same circuits? Allegedly the Bogner pedals sound pretty close to the tube amp. I have the Red pedal but have not A/Bd vs the actual amp. I have to have just the right clean tone for the Bogner Red to sound right but it can sound pretty good.

I just ordered mine today from Sweetwater. It will ship to me on Sept 2nd.....Can't wait!!!
 
Dealer on Reverb tried to tell me that he was getting a shipment today. I don't know if he is for real.

You can usually find some company that will give you the discount. Chicago Music Exchange generally has 10% off coupons all the time and sells Friedman amps. By being patient I have been able to find discounts on pedals that are tough to find.

I am curious how much that internal gain pot does. I didn't notice as much variation on the gain range in Pete's excellent demo as I would have liked. That is my biggest complaint with the Bogner red, is that the gain knob doesn't have a great range to it. I seem to go through phases where I use more or less gain, so having the ability to really adjust the gain is important to me.

I hope this launch makes way for the Tube Friedman pedal.
