Anyone here have a Dimarzio Norton and a multi-meter?

Trying to find out the resistance specs for each coil of a 6-string Dimarzio Norton. I've been trying to convert a 7-string Air Norton into a 7-string regular Norton, but I'm starting to wonder if the 7-string pickup is just dramatically different from the 6-string version.

4.5K and 7.6K for each coil of a 6 string Norton
The 7 string is not the same exact tone as the 6 but i would not say they are dramatically different.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've been told it's the slug coil that is the 7.5k coil and the screw coil is 4.5k. That matches up with what I see from the 7-string version.

There apparently are differences in the construction. The Air Norton 7 actually is only "half-aired." And supposedly the Air Norton 7 uses Dimarzio's Virtual Vintage slugs, but I opened up two of these pickups and don't see them.

I've de-aired the pickup I have, so I guess the only thing left is to wire it up and just see how it sounds.

You can't see them from the top of the bobbin, but if you take off the baseplate and look under the spacers and keeper bars, they are extra slugs inserted between the regular pole pieces.

Apparently they make the pickup sound warmer without having to find a way to increase the resistance of the pickup (which would also impact the output).
