No, but it looks like some people are reselling them for double or triple the money.

Sounds about right. I want to play, and they want them to flip. Assholes.

Agreed. It's always the same with anything "limited edition" it's always greedy flippers who end up buying everything up and then turning around and gouging people who actually want the product. Lame.

It might be worth a try contacting Wildwood Guitars in Colorado. On August 24th they told me they were allotted 1 aged & signed that was already spoken for. I put money down on a VOS at that time. They told me that they would get 6 of the VOS. Hope ya find one man!

I will do that, thank you very much! I really hope I can land one. My budget is about $7500, I hope I can find one at that price :aww:

$6K? Umm no. Just buy an actual '79.

EDIT: Jesus Christ... just looked at prices on original Silverbursts. $13K+ ????? WTF. I've had three of them and got them for like $3k and got rid of them a few years ago. I wouldn't pay $13K for a Norlin LP.

Pretty crazy shit, I guess it's for serious fans with lots of dough and not really anyone else. Man I got my 1968 LP Custom for less than that.

As soon as I saw the silver burst it brought back memories, well memories of nightmares to be exact. I have two reoccurring nightmares, actual sleeping nightmares. One of them is Bo Diddly's square guitar and I started with that nightmare around 7-8 years old, when I first started playing. The other, you guessed it, I am on stage with a silver burst. That one started when I was 18 and I bought my 1955 Fender Stratocaster and I would have nightmares that I bought the silver burst instead. Talk about cold sweats, wow.

I still get the nightmares every once in a while. Fuck you square guitars and silver burst, I can not think of a uglier color scheme.

I guess when they charge $10k for a replica, the price of the original bound to go up. Glad that I picked one up last year but I’d rather play my ‘90 one TBH.

I’m curious about the level of timber they’ll use this time though. Wondering if they gonna make them 10lb+ like the originals or they gonna use lightweight mahogany like what they use for R9’s.

I kinda wish I had bought one of yours.

Make sure if you buy one you get both cases. Gibson fucked up and did the cases wrong, so they're asking dealers for the customers addresses so they can send them the cases that were meant to be with them. So to get the full "collector" value, you need both cases. So these dickbags reselling them both should be reselling them with 4 cases altogether.

If you're genuinely interested in one from a dealer that has one, ask for both cases. If you're gonna buy one second hand, demand the extra case. You're spending a shitton of money anyway.

Good to know, thank you. I had no idea about all that. Unfortunately every single dealer is sold out so I'm going to have to rely on an honest reseller.

Or wait for the price for 79-81 Silverbursts to come down again. Pretty sure no one's gonna buy them at $12k...

Wow, congratulations! I can only dream of being fortune enough to spend that kind of money on guitars. Good investment though, I'm sure.

If you're looking to flip a VOS one for a quick profit, I'm your man :D

Get a black Custom, and have a pro refinish it? :) It would probably be cheaper.. :D

They are aimed towards collectors, so people are willing to spend the coin.
Personally, id rather buy an original Norlin SB.

This is probably as bad as the Fortin 33 price gouging fiasco.

If anybody ordered from Sweetwater...They just got stolen right out of the delivery truck
