If anybody ordered from Sweetwater...They just got stolen right out of the delivery truck

They weren't stolen. A mystic shaman/Tool fan, assisted by listening to the new Tool album (backwards), 10 hits of LSD and an animal sacrifice (asian carp) opened a time portal in the truck. The guitars fell through it.

Just read about that, sucks for those who ordered from SW. Looks like someone managed to steal an entire pallet. Crazy.

Holy shit, I just Google'd it. That's insane! I feel so terrible for all the people they were going to. That would have absolutely crushed me.

After reading the article, it certainly sounds like it was an inside job

"Nashville, TN (November 5, 2020) -- A pallet of new Gibson Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom Silverburst guitars has been stolen from a Sweetwater Music truck at the Flying J Travel Center in Whiteland, IN on October 30, 2020. The truck was en route to Fort Wayne, IN, the headquarters of Sweetwater Sound."

Hmmm....A trucker bro in Indiana asked if I had interest in a new guitar he scored from a meth-head dope whore at the local truck stop. He sent me a picture, but it was of the whore. Looked like Mailman in drag.

Stealing a pallet of $6k guitars that seemingly could be resold easily for much more has to be peak 2020 Guitar.

I try not to complain about prices and people can sell their own stuff for whatever they want, but the mania over this stuff is kinda taking the fun out of it. Forums aren't so much a community for celebrating cool gear but a stressful arbitrage business. And stealing for it is just a whole new low.

My guitar was on this stolen pallet. Sweetwater called me yesterday to let me know. I’m disappointed for sure.

As someone who missed out on this whole thing, you have my sincerest condolences. I hope they can track them down and get yours to you.

If not, maybe they'll make some more to make you guys whole again.

I am sure that they have a list of the serial numbers on the stolen guitars. Unless they are secretly shipped overseas somewhere, those guitars will be way too hot to handle in the states.

Thanks. It’s another 2020 kick in the dick. But i have perspective and it is just a guitar.

I was told Gibson is not replacing these. We’re sol.

I hope they get recovered then. Pretty shitty of Gibson to outright refuse to make replacements.

They were limited editions so I get it. Also, like I mentioned earlier, those serial numbers are going to be so F'ing hot that unless they are moved to some third world country under the cover of darkness, most of them will pop back up soon enough.

I can see it now, in about 5 years the stolen serial number guitars will have extra "mojo" and will fetch a premium.

I am guessing those guitars are already on a boat heading halfway around the world by now. As stated above, they are unsellable in most of the world. I am guessing a few ultra rich Chinese businessmen will have one hanging on their walls soon enough.

Probably an inside job. Thieves are the worst kind of scum.

According to an Inside Indiana Business article on 11/5 at 9:07 PM EST, 3 of these stolen guitars have shown up on a "reselling site" already. Hope they find them all for you guys and that you get front row seats to watch Karma even the score...

Are these guitars a one time run (obviously the 79 beat up ones are ) or is the VOS a production model now? Nothing wrong with trying to make a profit but for a guitar that’s already 6k I can’t see too many jumping on one priced at 12k+ second hand. Crazier things have happened I guess.

Thanks for this, it gives me a little hope.

When cars get stolen here in Seattle they are usually on a boat to China or Russia in less than 4 hours.....If the people that stole it are organized at all the guitars were out of the country a few days later.
