Anyone here use the Dimarzio Air Norton?

Mainly interested in the Air Norton as a neck pickup.. Tell me a bit about it, the guitar you use it in, how it sounds? etc

Would it warm up a bright guitar? My GMW has a Maple neck/Ebony board aswell as an Alder body.. so it needs a neck pickup thats smooth and warm. Not trebly.

Hoping this pickup does much more than just the typical Petrucci tone..

It's very smooth, warm, and fat sounding. It's my #1 neck pickup. However, it's more compressed than a PAF or PAF Pro (and darker, as well). Sounds nice split, too.

Besides having some in Ibanez's, I had one in an Edwards LPC and it was a match made in heaven! Excellent neck pickup!

I currently have my GMW setup with a pickguard that is routed for a Hum in the bridge and a singlecoil in the neck. Im more into the tone of humbuckers, and i think the Air Norton may fit the bill perfectly!

Tried it in the neck, not enough output for me, I prefer the Air Zone.

I currently have my GMW setup with a pickguard that is routed for a Hum in the bridge and a singlecoil in the neck. Im more into the tone of humbuckers, and i think the Air Norton may fit the bill perfectly!

So you'll be getting the Air Norton S? Let us know how it is once you get it. I haven't tried the single yet, but I was very close to buying it when I had my Maiden strat.

Actually im changing out the pickguard to Hum/Hum and il be loading the full size bucker into the neck I have a Duncan Custom Custom im selling on eBay, so when that sells.. il use the cash to buy the Air Norton!
