Was curious if anyone here has had a Carvin built anytime recently. How long is the wait on getting one built?

Waited 4 months to get one and sent it back
Up on their site now in the in stock guitars.

I wasnt happy with the top! I asked for a big wavy quilt and got the opposite. I had a Floyd on the order form and took it off to save some $$$$$

That one looks awesome IMO, and I usually hate those guitars. Did it sound good?

Can someone post that picture of the Chamelion like burst Carvin? It was like Green, Yellow, Orange, and Blue or something. Fucking sweet looking.

That chameleon finish is called Dragon Burst, and I think it adds wait time. The last I heard they were shorthanded in the finishing department.

Frankly I think that Carvin up there looks great, a floyd would be sweet but the maple board and that dark quilt is money.

wow, i cant believe you didnt like that top. how did the thing play?? heres some nice carvins

When I ordered mine (Sept 9) they said 8-10 weeks, my estimated arrival time is Oct 30th.

Sounded dead when it wasn't plugged. Not very loud or alive.

Every Carvin I've ever played could have that same description. Too bad because they sure LOOK nice.

If you are looking for a particular "look"send them a pic. That helps. I love my DC127. It is my number one guitar. It plays better, sounds better, holds tune better than any other guitar that I have played. It's not the looker that other Carvins are, but it has that "it" factor that no other guitar I've owned has had.

Yes, there is NO locking nut. It holds tuning better than most fixed bridges that I've owned- and I abuse the bar all the time.

I don't blame you, I would've sent that back also. There are flaws all over that quilt.

I'm about 1/2 hour away from the Carvin factory. Like all builders, Carvin is hit or miss when it comes to the "subjective" side of things. And it seems lately, they've become a little shoddy on the "visual" side of thingsThese kinds of posts always reaffirm my belief in not ordering guitars via the internet. I gotta bond with them on a players level....acoustic resonance, sustain, etc...pictures will never accomplish that for me.

I'm not as concerned about what a guitar sounds like unplugged. What does it sound like plugged in? I had a Carvin TL-60 that wasn't super resonant unplugged but it tore things up when you turned on.

I agree...bummer that Suhr's and Anderson's are never at my local stores to try out. I won't buy a guitar without having it in my hands to try out first.
