I am restoring a 71 Marshall Cab and can't find the correct screws to mount the speakers.

I read they are called Whitworth thread. Tried 10-32, and 5mm.8. not it.

Can I buy these at the local hardware store? I see them on ebay but the guy wants 45.00 for one screw. i'm not paying that.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Just in case anyone else is interested i found out they are called 2BAx1" cheesehead screws.

Not yet, I see them on Ebay reasonable but they are only in the UK. Never ordered anything from overseas, how does that work with customs and all ? Can't find them in US yet.

Post a pic of the screw you need I think I have a bag of them.

I believe these are them, but I don't have any to compare.

I can hook you up, need 1?

No bro, I don't have any. I bought the cab without speakers and screws. Had no idea they were so hard to find.

That would mean I need 16 of them. :aww:

I heard about these when I was watching Cars 2 with my kid. And that's thee only time I've ever heard them mentioned, ever.

If the grill cloth is off you can easily change the nuts to a comparable us/metric size and save some $$. I recently picked up a 71 cab and am struggling to get the musty smell out of mine. Hmmm...... wanna trade my empty 71 cab with screws for yours// :D :D

I have changed a few T Nuts by reaching between the grill cloth and the board.
Just get a screw started and tap on it LIGHTLY while hanging onto the baffle board.(so it doesn't spring like a diving board)

Ask Jim at Scumback speakers. I found a posting of his on The Gear Page from 2007 that he claimed a guy in Texas makes those EXACT bolts.
