I am considering buying one of these online(my local store does not have one to try)

How is the fret work on these?
I prefer a really low action so if the frets are not dressed properly it will buzz like mad and have dead spots when bending.
I know these have killer feeling necks(super wizard)and they sound good so as long as the fret work if top notch i would not have any complaints.
Have owned a few Fugi gen RG's in the past( 1988 RG 550 and a 1990 RG 770)
those were good guitars but the fret work was so so.

I have never purchased a guitar and not immediately taken it to my tech and have him dress all the frets, set the intonation , change strings , set the action etc.
Generally these guitars are fine guitars, but why would you not get the thing set up by a pro to your exact liking?

I would set it up BUT that has nothing to do with the fret work being done properly?
I do all my own work except the rets,With my Charvels i put on the strings i like, lower the action, tune it to Eb , check the neck straightness, check intonation and adjust the p'u height then they were great.
Now if the fret work was not good i would have had to pay someone to get them leveled and dressed on top of those things.

I've had good luck with the factory fretwork. I'm not a big fan of the Ibanez trems, so the one I currently have has a Schaller Floyd and MCP Afwayu's.

ibanezrules site good deals and he does the setup
I will check over there thanks

To your original question, they're great guitars. I also can't recommend Ibanezrules enough. His setups on Ibanez guitars are second to none. I recommend going at least silver package, if not gold. He will also price match, and accept competitors coupons up to 15%.
