Seems like they would kick ass for gigs, facing upwards a bit, lighter, etc. Let me k ow what you guys think of these!

I'm curious as well. I almost bought one when I was looking for a 1x12 but couldn't really find any feedback, so I went with the Canyon 1x12.

I've played one that was on consignment at a local pawn shop.

Honestly it was pretty odd feeling and sounding as a first impression, but I have the notion that eventually you would get used to it
Probably felt like a monitor? As guitarists, I thibk we are used to the sounds hitting us in the knees and not so direct.

Poorly built, has been my experience with all the mojo cabs I have bought new. and now with their price increase, even more of a reason to stay away but, if you can find one used at a good price, and it sounds good to YOU then, hey... it's your money. I ended up selling more than I kept. also, as a side note...their shipping cartons are bare minimum. some of the worst packaging in the business...even worse that orange. so. there's your heads up.

Yes, just because of the directionality, it felt exactly like playing a modeler through a monitor - im sure that's only because I'm USED to hearing monitors that are angled like that, if you know what I mean

I'm guessing you could get used to hearing a guitar speaker through one if you put some time in with it, but it was definitely weird sounding and feeling for me. I suppose i'm just really used to hearing either a digital modeling "finished tone" through a monitor or a fully miced amplifier sound coming through the monitor, so either way when I plugged into the MJ slammins cab I was expecting a "finished" sounding guitar sound, and that obviously isn't what you're hearing.

I suppose you could mitigate this experience by getting a super dark speaker or something to take away all the high end, but it's gonna feel weird for you and everyone else at first

Ugh, don't like that at all. I'll probably hard pass.

I have the Avatar version, the one Mick Mars used as a stage monitor for a while. I’ve gigged a bunch of times with it and it is a bit different than having a traditional cabinet behind you. It’s definitely brighter since it’s pointing at your face. That is pretty easily fixed with beam blockers though. The nice thing is you can crank your stage volume up a bit since your cabinet isn’t pointing towards the audience and sound guy. You can definitely hear yourself a lot better vs a traditional cabinet too.

When I was gigging with my Orange Super Crush 100 combo, I'd have it on a stand behind me and was great because the sound was shooting over my head. My last gig, it was harder to hear myself with the Orange vertical 2x12 and Dual Baby but I probably needed to turn it up more.
