Anyone play both the Splawn Nitro and Soldano Avenger??

I'm considering either of these for my next amp. Most likely for some heavy thrash, prog metal, and hard rock. Most likely to be used with an Alder body ESP M-II and a Duncan Custom.

How would you compare them? They both seem to do pretty well in the uber high gain department.

Yes, but it's not as saturated and gainy as you might think. It doesn't get as saturated as an Uberschall, Herbert, or a Cameron Marshall. I can't imagine someone ever needing all the gain the latter have, but I could see someone wanting a little more saturation from the Nitro. It has that clean gain thing going on when compared to the ones I mentioned. Depending on what you're looking for gain wise you might want some really hot pickups or boost it. It is definitely tight enough and articulate enough. Plus, I've never played an amp with such a punchy low end. For the record the one I had had KT77's.
