Anyone played an Ibanez rg2620 cubed?

I've liked all the MIJ Ibanez guitars I've played with an Edge Pro trem, so I assume it's a safe bet. Price seems ok if you dig the finish. I have no idea what they go for.

I have an RG1520 Poisoned Pumpkin. Which is the same guitar as the 2620 except for the finish. It is a great guitar, and everything you would expect from an Ibanez Prestige model. $750 is a fair price, but I would offer him $700.

I'm not sure the finish is for me. A lot of basswood ibanez I've played even my old rgr1220bk I ordered from Japan sounded thin. The only ibanez I've kept over the years is my 2001 rg2020xtb. Cuz mahogany heavy and thick sounding, plus original wizard neck is killer

no its not the same guitar there was a lot of time put in those cubes,, edge pro binded edges and the necks were really professionally worked on.. Ive had a couple of both the 1520 and different colored cubed.. The pickups suck as they are the dimarzio/Ibanez.. But the switching on the upper end HH guitars with Ibanez is perfect. bridge two inside coils in series not parallel so they stay lound and bullish, 3rd position gives u both which is dumb 4th position gives youthe neck pickup in parallel which sounds wounderful and doesn't loose volume due to being paralell and stil keeps the fender strat LENNY tone. So all in all change the pickups but make sure you rewire exsctly as it is easy to screw that wiring up and all the schematic diagrams are wrong..
If its 750 and clean I want it if you dont

I'm not sure the neck, but the bridge was switched to a crunch lab, my guess is a liquifier neck

meh you might dig it, I would play first and make sure all switchselections work as if he didn't know what he was doing when changing p/u you could have a mess.HH 5 ways are hard to wire on the ym50 like switch.

What pups were in it? BTW, what kind of sound are you shooting for?

I bought one when it first came out. It played and sounded great even with the stock pups, but I sold it soon after because I started playing 7 string.

There was only one thing I didn't like about it and that was the binding (or fake binding?) around the body. I know it's no big deal for most people, but I just can't stand any binding anywhere on a any guitar.

Thanks for the input guys....

I decided to pass on the guitar, cuz the seller. I emailed twice(no reply), then after 4 days text him, and he said he got my emails, but when he replied they got sent back?
Don't know how that happens. So, 2 nights ago when i got through on text, i asked about the pickups...he said crunchlab installed. Last night, I asked which neck pickup he put in, cuz the ad shows different dimarzio than the stock. His simple text back was "yes, perhaps you'll come look at it someday." Not telling me which neck pickup, and being passive/aggressive. So, i still don't know the neck pickup

I responded simply saying "Thanks, i don't know why there is a problem asking about modifications, when the ad doesn't state anything about them?"

So I am out. Not cuz of the axe, just on merit of the seller. I'm not dealing with someone who treats me like shit....

anyway here was the ad: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/msg/4993943440.html
