What did it end up running you in tariffs and shipper fees (above and beyond straight shipping)?
I haven’t ordered a guitar since it was basically nothing additional but a guitar I’m looking at could get cost prohibitive pretty quick if the fees add up. Looks like my options from the seller will be EMS, fed ex or DHL. Guitar will probably have a value just shy of 1200 USD. It”s an SG and would not ship with a case re: weight.

Yes; I purchased three MIJ Jags "used" on reverb. these were purchased by resellers in Japan to sell as used because Fender won't allow sales of new MIJ guitars as new to customers in the US.

I was in Japan a few months ago, found a new guitar (Jag) at Ishibashi. They said I could buy it there, and not pay taxes,; but they were not allowed to ship it to the US due to Fender policy. If I purchased it there, I'd have to take back on the plane or find a local shipper.

One seller covered the import duty / fees for me; for one guitar import duties were: $134.69; the other was $141.90. Each guitar was around $1400 before tax, shipping and import duties.

Two Jags are mine; one was for my son. Lake Placid Blue, and pearl white with gold hardware for me; Candy apple red for him.

edit: the one the seller covered the import duties was delivered to me by DHL; the other two I paid import duties were both FedEx
