While slumming at GC I picked up a Baretta and thought it had a nice profile on the neck. Didn’t plug it in because the Floyd’s, fine tuners were too jacked up to get it in tune. Wouldn’t mind an inexpensive but decent Floyd guitar for fun but so many have necks I don’t like. Who’s happy with their Kramer?

If you liked it, grab it.

The 84 is something I would love to have.

I’m curious how people who are more experienced with Floyd hardware (I am not) think of the hardware on the Kramers. Adjustability, tone, longevity. I didn’t care for the body graphic on this particular one and the fine tuners were so out of whack, there was no point in plugging it in.

I had one back in the 80's

The Floyd on it was garbage.

ymmv

That ship has sailed, homie.

My brother stole that amp from me, and the Kramer, and sold them at a pawn shop to buy coke sometime in teh 90's.

Holy Chit, bet you were a happy camper ! Dang that stings.

I had an 84. Nice guitar. Not worth the new price imo, but used..yup..?

I bought one of the new baretta models new a couple years ago. It’s a nice guitar…. I had gotten it for $650 at the time. Think they’re $800 now. I changed out the JB for a Dimarzio Tone Zone. I also put in a FU-Tone trem stopper so it’s dive bomb only.
I would definitely look for a used one as the price jump on the newer models doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Also those jb’s are ass in the 84 imo… why Kramer only installs jb’s is beyond me.

I saw that the new models are coming stock with a Kramer Eruption pickup. No idea what those are all about ? ??

Much better pup with the Eruption although the JB in one aint bad either in mine IMO and to answer OP the Floyd 1000 on these are great. Love My Kramer 84 in Blue Metallic and may pick up another new 84 myself or a new 84 HH *_*

PS Keep in mind Barretas and 84s have different neck profiles. Also would try get one on sale or B-Stock and that is probably better than used IMO as many times used some really fudge up the Trems in general with Floyds IME.

How are they different? Kind of dig the Baretta shape, comfy C.

I'm holding out for an '83 reissue in white. But all the used ones out there are black.

I recently bought the white 83 reissue Baretta like the one on the Van Halen ad and I noticed two things that were different than my other guitars. The neck seems to be wider than my other Charvels. I believe the neck radius is 16". Also, the pole pieces on the angle pickup doesn't seem to be aligned with the strings very well.
