Please don't recommend the Les Paul Axcess etc. or the Floyd FRX or Stets Bar etc. I need a 7-string.

So: anyone with experience routing an LP for a trem? My preference is Floyd, but I worry about the posts being so close to the bridge pickup route. I traditional trem (Hipshot) might not have the posts as close. Then there's Kahler. But in addition to routing under the Kahler, I'd need to move the tail piece studs too. But that's still way less surgery than a Floyd Indra.

Anyway: anyone done it and been happy with the results?

Kahler make (made) a Floyd that fits on the tailpiece studs - you have to remove the studs for the tunamatic and it still requires routing of course, but much less than a fender/floyd style.

Concur.

And I'm still confused about a Lester being 7 strings (mandatory) but the recommendations not to mention Axxess or the like

It's okay - I know I'm missing something here, no one's fault but my own I am sure

I'd buy a 7-string Axcess in a heartbeat, but Gibson doesn't make one. That's why I asked not to recommend it. Gibson has made other 7-string LPs. I'd like to route one for a Floyd but I'm scared to death to do it. Hoping for some encouragement.

If its a single cut you need why not a ESP EC series. Since your changing the nature of the led Paul from the traditional...7string then a Floyd etc.
I'm not against modding a Gibson, but resale will be horrible. I'm sure you've already considered the implications. Best of luck finding or making what you need.
