It's all good man, I didn't think you we're being an asshole at all.

The loudest amp for me is the 2203 w/6550's. I had identical EL-34 versions of 2203/04's but kept the 6550 version. I like the Mark III's , I never owned but always liked the tone of the guys cranking them back then.

I use In-ears, so I hear myself over the drummer regardless of how loud my amp is.

from what i understand, if you're running 6550's, it's like that scene in the "hulk" (ed norton hulk) where they try to stun him with sound.

Even with EL34's

There is nothing like getting hit in the back of the legs from the THUMP of a couple of straight 4x12's, on the floor behind you.

Remember the first time you saw your pant legs move due to the high volume sound waves? "Dude, you gotta see this, stand here for a minute" lol

i just tried this in the spare room with the jmp. wow, pretty friggin awesome! master at full, eq's at half, pre got to about 3 before i stopped. it sound good with the pre at about two as well. just real punchy and was getting alot of sustain from the power section. left the fulldrive on the same settings i always boost with. very different tone than preamp up, master down... man i might have just ruined my ears... but it was such a rich powerful overdrive.

Master on 10, preamp to taste slammed with an o.d.?? Is this a safe/sane thing to do??
I see no reason to completely crank a master volume Marshall personally. A non-master Marshall, sure, but if it has a master it isn't necessary to get a great tone...

yes. air in a room vibrating due to tubes, speakers, strings and wood = more wood!

Would be cool if someone made a comparison clip. Don't have the courage yet to try it for meself

Ill try and do one with my iphone on weds night band practice. Ill never run my jmp the old way again lol. My jmp isnt as loud as my jcm, so it was perfect for band volume this way.
