Anyone running a Mesa Mark V 25 head?

Sold my Mark V 90 watt.

Looking of maybe picking up a little 25 watter for fun.

What is the concensus on them?

Thanks

Had one, flipped it to a buddy on a bro deal, so he'd have a good amp to play, that his wife wouldn't complain about the price too much.
Played it the other day. I'll gladly buy it back if he ever decides to sell.
Fantastic cleans, crunch and drive for leads and heavy rhythm.
Like it better than the Mark V and III I had.
It doesn't sound as big as my higher watt amps at loud gig volume. But it's great for around the house, recording, and most gig volumes these days.
I was surprised when I was able to cop 3 Monkeys Grease Monkey tones from it. Wasn't exact, but waaaayyy better than an AC15C1 for that.
It'll stand up to EVH, SLO, Friedman sounds. Biggest 20 watter I've heard.
Honestly, it's one of the best amps for all kinds of tones, at normal volumes, that I've owned or played.

Check this out. It's a player, with quality tone:

Edited to add, I kept a PRS Archon when I flipped the Mk 5 25. Its not as versatile. Doesn't have the different clean, crunch and heavy sounds. But it sounded bigger and better at what it does, vs the Mk 5 25. And can be had cheap, like $500 used right now on local FB Marketplace.

They're great for versatility and low volume.

If you play gigs that are miced up, should be fine, but is lacking in headroom and volume for gigs where you don't have a lot of sound reinforcement.

They sound great, and are a lot of amp for the price

I absolutely love mine. I only use it for at home playing & recording.

It doesn’t offer quite what my mark iii does tonally, but it gets awfully close with a much more user friendly layout.

It’s become the amp that I play the most. I love all 3 modes on ch1, mainly the iic+ mode on ch 2, sometimes I’ll run pedals in front or through the loop, here lately I’ve just been going straight in.

I have a V 35 and I love it! I also have a Mark III and VII as well. The V 35 is great for playing around the house. Very versatile, doesn't need any pedals and sounds great at low volumes. As long as you realize that the amp will be used strictly for playing by yourself. If you plan on jamming with a drummer using the 25 or 35 I wouldn't recommend it because like all lunch box sized amps they just don't cut through but it's the nature of the beast with all lunch box sized amps. BTW, for this being a lunch box size amp, it's pretty damn big.

Same, I have a Mark V 35 and it is a great amp. Great cleans, crunch, and face melting high gain if you want it.

Have a Mesa MarkV:25. Great lil' amp. Can be loud on top of my Mesa vertical 2x12. I really liked the IIC+ mode on it that I bought a real IIC+ RI when they released it.

The mini Mark is very versatile. Go with the 35 if you need the "solo" feature.

The V25 was my first Mark series, and I absolutely loved it, but I needed band level volumes, and it does not do band level volumes well. I sold it for a 90 watt, and regretted it.

I have the 35 coupled with a 2x12 recifier cab and have no problem getting over a very hard hitting drummer. 25 might be an issue though.

I agree but disagree. I run my 35 through a 4x12 and it might do it depending on what you play.

I had the 25, stacked on top of (2) Mesa Thiele 1x12's. Killer amp, loved it. But it does peter out at higher volume. That was really my only complaint - headroom. But the tones are in there - solid. Depending on the high gain modes, I was nailing Metallica to Lamb Of God, nearly spot-on. Really sounds good through a 4x12!
