Some poor guy on the 7 string forum ordered a custom shop Kelly (similar to the Marty Friedman sig) and waited 2 years for it.

When he finally got it the side dots where not centered on the frets and it only has 23 frets! Was supposed to be 24, passed all QC at the factory though.

Crazy!

I saw it. Pretty pathetic...
My PC-1 had to go back to the factory for a new neck. The nut was too far away from the first fret. Jackson QC is pretty terrible!!!

There is no way I would accept that. I think I would demand my money back and never give Jackson another penny. My first Suhr Modern took about 10 months to build and that was during the time the shop was being moved. 2 years is just stupid. And then to send it out minus a fret and the side dots look like I put them in on a sunday morning around 2 am..... My other two moderns took just over six months. And zero flaws in any of the three. ( As it should be with ANY custom build.)

If I was the supervisor of the dudes that built and inspected that guitar, I would fire them unless they were family, and I may fire them anyway..........

On the other hand, I find myself wanting a wierd 23 fret guitar now lol!

Apparently the sentiments that the Jackson/Charvel Custom Shop has gotten beyond it's QC issues were premature. How the hell can they screw up the number of frets??? You would think that there's something in place that consistently cuts the necks? Unf#ckingbelievable!!!

Yeah like I said, I'd fire the pair that messed that one up. :gethim:

The cool thing is, how many 23 fret Jacksons are there? :D

The not cool thing is, they had a month for each fret and still fucked it up. And the side dot placement is messed up too.

I ordered a custom Tom Anderson - had a solid rosewood neck, custom oversize neck, hollow body, flame maple top, I'd have to check my records but it took no longer than 6 months and maybe closer to four. Was PERFECT when I got it too.

That's utterly bush league. I no longer have any respect for Jackson's Custom Shop. It's dead to me.

I can see this relisted on eBay...."super rare 23 fret" model and add $1000 on top for being one of a kind ;)

How does anyone know he didn't want it that way ?

Because it was his thread, he said so and also posted the CS invoice where it shows "24 frets"

 Time to implement mandatory drug testing @ Jackson. That is unacceptable.

2 year wait + missing fret + neck binding when he specifically asked for no binding + cockeyed side dots + passed QC....who knows what else they half-assed that hasn't been discovered yet.
someone (if not more) needs to fired....to me this is CS by name only.

And oh yeh, 2 in one week, Jackson CS is on a roll!

Sucks for that guy. I would get a full refund and order from elsewhere
