I've never seen them but have wanted to for 20 years or so... so I just bought 5th row tix to see them this July. I think Tom Scholtz is the only original member remaining, so I hope they still put on a good show :D

AWESOME! I didn't know they were hitting the road again. I hope they add a Syracuse NY show. They've been great everytime I've ever seen them.

Tom and the other guitar player are original. Michael Sweet is not singing with them any more. The Office Depot dude is their main singer, you got to hear him, he sounds so much like Brad Delp it is scary.

I saw them 3 years ago with Michael Sweet. To be honest the extended jams got boring, people were walking out. Styx opened up for them and stole the show.

If you have never seen them, it is worth it at least once.

Tom is the only original member. Gary has been with the band a while, but he's not an original member. Tommy DeCarlo is the singer. I think they found him on Myspace and he worked at Home Depot.

This... Barry Goudreau was the original guitar player and he ,the drummer and bass player left/quit the band and then had a suit against Scholz or something like that. Barry Goudreau had a band called Orion the Hunter that had some great guitar work on it along with some other projects. I saw the original line up YEARS ago and was blown away. I literally wore the grooves off of the first album and listened to it again last weekend and was blown away at just how good it sounds today in every sense, playing , production and songwriting. That is one fantastic album...

Home Depot, Office Depot......same difference. Grab some drywall, a new computer, and a lead singer. One stop shopping.

no Brad no Boston. No Steve Perry no Journey. No Gary Richrath no REO. etc etc .

I did see them with the last singer and it was a so so show.

Seen them 4 times since the Third Stage days. They were good every time but prefer them with Brad no matter what. RIP

I still have the Orion the Hunter album. That was a great release. RTZ (Return to Zero) was another Boston'ish relase. I believe Fran Cosmo was on that one.

I agree 110%

the Journey story just flat out pisses me off. whats the deal boys dont you realize your reunion would most definately be the biggest draw out of all the reunions. Mostly due to these stupid shows like Glee and Sopranos.. money money money... wake up guys. Make amends , come rock.

Does Perry still have his voice? I know he had some serious issues years back and he's been completely out of the scene for quite some time, possibly because his voice is in no shape to sing any longer.

The Barry Goudreau solo album is my favorite by far of the ex/post Boston albums I've heard. This is the album that the record company put a sticker on the front saying "featuring members of Boston". This made Scholtz mad and he sued, fired Barry from Boston and got the album yanked from stores so it never took off.

Perry so doesn't need to work. He gets a cut of revenue from the current version of Journey's touring/merch income, so he gets paid to tour while sitting at home. Journey has the highest royalty rate in the industry on their back catalog supposedly. 'Don't Stop Believing' was the number 1 highest selling song on itunes after being used in the Sopranos and Glee and Perry has a ton of songwriting credits on the Journey hits. Neil Schon is the guy with 3 or 4(?) California divorces that couldn't have been good to his finances.
