Just curious who out there still plays their Mod 50. It has been my #1 since I got it in 2008. I know Egnater's reputation has taken a hit due to issues with their import amps, and it's really too bad.

Every Sunday , Bman and Friedman C 45 modules, great tones with a g-system 4 cable method in series loop. I am blessed for sure

Nope. I no longer own a M4, Mod 50, or Mod100 anymore. I'm totally digging my PT100, Voodoo Amps / Ceriatone 2555 and DC-30, Voodoo modded Mesa Dual Rectifier, and Voodoo amps ODS-60.

I don't miss my Egnater gear in the least honestly. My tone has never been better.

'Play' might be tonally subjective.....but I still make noise with my MOD50, the third time I've owned one...still have an RM50 and heavily modded RM100 Lynch Head too.

I remember Eric's tone quest well..speakers, mods etc.....it's tempting just to keep tweaking all the time with these things......

I don´t have the Egnater, but a Lynchbox has been a big part of my rig for years.

I don't miss those days. I "play" a lot more these days. I tweak more with my vol / tone pots...and EQ / Gain on the amps. The speaker / pickup quests are both done. If it's not a Celestion, Suhr, or a Fralin pickup...I really don't care much anymore. I've personally found my sounds...and what works for my playing. I'm enjoying the jamming more than the tweaking of gear anymore.

not a mod 50 , but still play mod100 every day

for me the eg3/4 plus module is just right!

Yep - I've got the original prototype and play it every weekend!

Don't know if I miss them. I had 2- M4s a Mod50 and Modded RM100 to dual channel. Great tone. I remember my favorite tone was from the 2) RT2/50s in stereo into the 2) TM212 cabs with the T/D module and my USA Deluxe Strat. The RM100 had my favorite power amp section.

I had all the stock modules :D Once I got my Bogner 20th A it kicked all that out. I dumped it when the china stuff was starting up and the word of no more module stuff started surfacing. Best thing I did because all I did was tweak modules.

They are great amps. I just had my reasons

Im still honey moon happy with the Bogner 20th A and my Mesa Mk III. The only amps left I want are a SLO and Orange AD30. Another Marshall JMP 100 might find its way back if it was on the cheap

Nope.

About 2 years ago, I had two MOD50s, two M4s, all of the stock Eggie dual channel modules and a ton of modded modules. I got scared by the China production and lack of continung promotion/development of the U.S.-produced modular line as well. Not to mention, like everyone else, I was spending way too much time fiddling and tweaking instead of just playing the damn guitar.

I sold it all and have moved away from racks completely and back to heads and pedalboards. I couldn't be happier.

No. I found myself always dialing the different modules to sound the same, so I sold them all off.

Still Got a Mod 100 and M4 with a bunch o' modules. Never really play the head anymore. Use the M4 occasionally. Between the Bogner 100B and the AxeFxII, I just really don't play the Eggie stuff anymore. It's a shame Bruce let that line die, but a guy's gotta make a living I guess...IMO, it had a lot of potential..
I still like it all though. At the end of the day though, I sound like me no matter what I play thru so it can be Bogner, Egnater, Fractal, whatever. I learned the amp is only a part of "the TONE". Been done chasing for a while now....

What up Aeroic!? It's been a while!

What's the difference between the Mod50 and say RM50? I have a Lynch Box I still play but i have to admit i find it lacking in the depth and fullness department compared to other amps I have. That said, the judge is a great module as is the Friedman Brahma and I am hoping getting one of those salvation MDA presence boards will help open the amp up because tone wise, it can def. hang. $HIT $HIT effects loop though. How do you guys run your effects? Wet/Dry?

i also have a dual modded lynch box 100 head.

i dunno but that one sure sounds different from my mod100 and my friends hammet version of the rm100

on my lynch box i had to run the presence down and the depth almost all the way up to get the same oomph as the same exact modules run on the other heads.

i am pretty sure the lynch box power section was tweaked towards lynch's preferences just like the hammet 100 is a little different from the standard rm100 in the power section.

Was told that lynch preferred the rm100 transformer over the Egnater transformers.

You use to be able to get the RM100 modded to use dual channel eggy modules. The RM50 didn't have enough room or something like that.
