...to make a natural binding?

I have a twenty-something year old Studio that I got new back in the mid-late 90s. Several nuts, locking tuners, 50s wiring and a 2nd Degree Black Belt later, I absolutely LOVE it. My best sounding guitar for sure. But I've always wanted it to have binding.

Would this just cause the rest of the finish to flake off? It's already checking and chipping because of its age, which honestly looks kind of cool so I'm not really worried about that.

Worth a try or bad idea?

Some of the best ideas started with bad ideas. That's all I got :ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, just tape off the cap and the sides to mimic binding and get at it. Taped "binding" is a standard Anderson and PRS thing....go for it!
