Anyone try out the Bareknuckle Aftermath set yet?

It's a great pickup! Incredibly tight and defined, with an extremely aggressive midrange voicing and smooth top end for a ceramic. The lean low end means it stacks up really well if you're quad-tracking (or more).
There are better models in the range if you want a really versatile pickup, but if your heart is in the heavy stuff it's hard to go wrong

I'm thinking about them too, or the good ol' Painkillers. I would be getting the 7 string version, playing death metal. I haven't really heard enough clips of the Aftermath yet, besides "djent"/prog or whatever.

Hmm for some reason my post didnt show up. Love your sample Nolly, Misha's just covered the percussive low end. But ended up purchasing a Ceramic Warpig because the AM just sounds too clinical. Im sure its gotta be awesome in the Ibanez 7s, but not rough enough for my tastes. Might regret the choice over time, but hell, might get one to replace my X2n in a while.

How does it compare to the painkiller?

Yeah, I think it's definitely emerging as an alternative to the Painkiller.
The comparison would be to imagine a Painkiller with less in the upper midrange, instead a broader, fatter mid voicing. Then smooth the top end a tad and remove some low end. It has a similarly "dry" character, but I would describe it as less "djenty" than the Painkiller (though it's certainly capable of that too).
With the slightly lower output I'd say the Aftermath is a bit less compressed, but both are really quite dynamic, especially compared with some of the metal pickups offered by other manufacturers.

Sure, with the brighter, drier voicing and lower output the AM could be a bit too surgical for some. The c-'Pig should do you well though, it's a very characterful and brutal pickup!

I have a Warpig Ceramic in the bridge of my 7 string and it sounds really, really good. Super tight and fat definition on the low B.
