I use them in my Les Paul. They do have a a little bite. I play through a Friedman Smallbox 50 through a pair of 1x12 cabls loaded with 65 watt cream backs. I do not use a ton of gain and like to use the volume knob on my guitar. I also use Seth Lovers in another guitar and they also sound great, but the Antiquities are my favorite.
The 70's Ibanez V's and Destroyers were never actual Korina wood, they were Ash with a 'Korina' finish whatever that means?
there's a pic on my background photo on my facebook page of the V and Destroyer https://www.facebook.com/AlEstradaGuitar
I bought one for the bridge of my R9, have not installed it yet.. but i'm liking already that some find it harsh. I usually like what other people think is harsh and that goes for amps, guitars..whatever.
I’d agree with the bitey comments, I wouldn’t say harsh but they def have some edge/cut/openness to them. I digg’em in Les Paul’s. They sound great with 50’s wiring and some good caps. All in all one of the better PAF’s out there especially for the price. As good as my R8 sounds I’m still tempted to throw some in.
