Anyone try SLO or 5153 blue channel preamp mods?

Interested in tinkering with my PTP. Essentially starting with a 2204. Like the sound of the blue channel that I hear on youtube but also like elements of the SLO sound without the fizz that happens when the preamp gets opened up on the lead channel. Curious if anyone has tried incorporating these elements into a 2204 type of circuit or if it just became a mess?

This amp that Dave designed for me had I believe the cold clip SLO like gain structure.
the power section is El34 loded I wanted a British/Soldano type amp and voila.

Dave can correct me cause its been a while but in our emails I wanted that Soldano gain and a Marshally voice.

2 modes dry is first ,second is the wet and even more saturated

ya its a cool amp for sure , has great growl .

To me the Soldano style preamp really works ,that clipping stage Mike Soldano uses and how he utilizes it , smoothes the tone nicely and gives this sizzle but chords still have wicked definition harmonics and are effortless and leads sing for days.

I have tried a ton of amps and the flavor of that type of circuit works best for what i like to hear, although everyone taste is different
