I just finished a flanger kit build. I had the idea that i could eliminate both my chorus and phaser pedals with this flanger. I use a phaser to get a very slow shimmer and the chorus to get a leslie-esque warble. I figure I can get close to both of these sounds with this one pedal. Does anyone use flangers anymore?

I have a original MXR 117 flanger from the 70's, I had a true bypass switch put in it, it was a tone drainer, but great sounding pedal, use sparingly

I use it sparingly on palm mutes sometimes or a pick scrape. Much more of a fan of phaser, univibe and rotary speaker sounds.

I use mine for clean stuff, rarely for high gain sounds.

Ill get some clips once my computer gets out of the hospital - its very sick. Im on a loaner laptop at the moment.

I've been using a flanger instead of my chorus pedal for cleans as of late and prefer it at the moment. :)

Yes, but not as a replacement for a phaser or chorus. I use those too.

That's exactly how I use mine!

Ibanez DFL.

Also I think Flanger sounds really cool on bass with a little fuzz.

I have a Toadworks Barracuda that I love for certain sounds. I have been using it for some clean parts as well as a couple of trippy parts. I'll never replace my phasers, but the Barracuda is awesome.

In love my phase 90 but I dont use it much. These days Im using a smaller board so it would be ideal to get rid of 2 pedals and gain one. The flanger would be my one and only modulation pedal on my board.

I have a MIJ BF-2 on my board. Great pedal, I probably overuse it.

I used an old Boss BF2 Flanger on our last album (De Profundis, 2005) for a cover of "Still Remains" by Stone Temple Pilots. The parts got a little buried in the mix, but I think that's because we stupidly used a little too much gain on the tone.

If you care to, you can hear it on our MySpace profile.
