If so can you fill me in ? Good for extend metal as well as rock ?Need educated

I think they make the best commonly available 2x12 on the market but the fact that the 4x12s have no casters always annoyed me. I hauled around Orange gear for years. Back breakers.

I been looking at a 4x12 . Did you get play any though ?

Sounds great on a mic. Can be tad dark at times.

Heavy to cart around and physically big.
Very directional too which can be a good and a bad thing depending on circumstances.

Dark huh ? I’m not big on dark . But that makes total sense thinking of their heads

I'm not an expert but think it might have something to do with the size, type of grill they use etc. I've only used them a couple of times so may be some error on my part too of course

All of us hear different too . Like my Diezel cab has bright highs but they rest of the frequencies are dark . It’s hard ti explain lol

Yeah I’ve owned a few of their 4x12s. They’re good, but I prefer Mesa now. Orange cabs have a unique sound and record well, but I’ll never tour with one again. What makes you interested in Orange over anything else? They were great in the 00s when there weren’t tons of readily made and well built cabs with v30s available, but now there’s endless options.

I like them, in the room they have a certain punch which is really fun. Under the mic, they can have a tendency to sound a little stuffy/bloated but sometimes it can work to thicken something out. Also gotta watch out for varying speakers, the best ones I've had were from 1999 and 2002 and had UK made V30's. I can't say I've really got on with their 2x12's.

They wouldn't be my first choice, but if you're well covered with Mesa and 1960 style cabs then its a good alternative.

I used to rock them, 412's and 212 - they make a great sounding cab even though their construction isn't anything special. I had a rev 2 Uberschall that was incredible through the PPC412. Lots of touring bands use them cause they sound good - Mastodon guys were using them at one point if I recall.

My complete opposite experience. They're really hard to record, IME. The thick grill makes pointing the mic a bit hard, and once you dial it in they sound kinda weird/boxy/phasey. JME.

Well I was just interested in something different.Never heard them

412 cabs have thunderous low end although with a slow attack. Not flubby, just a lingering low end so you have to adjust your bass if you are looking for a tighter attack. Not sure if it’s the construction or grill cloth but they have this inherent hi end sizzle that makes some amps sound more aggressive and others sound more vintage due to the somewhat boxy mids it puts out, if that makes any sense. It’s a great cab and I love mine.

What amps you run through it ?

So far I've ran through it with

RV50 MKII
Uber Rev Blue
Nitro
Quick Rod (sold)
5153 50w stealth (sold)
JVM205H (sold)
Kraken (sold)
Chupacabra 50
Mesa TR 3ch
MKV

Just about all of those amps gave me the huge punchy tones I was looking for. Only amp I didn't get 100% satisfactory results with it was the Nitro, especially if it was boosted. That amp takes the cake as the pickiest amp I've ever played. Even more so than a Framus Cobra. Drives me nuts at times.
