Anyone use SD Alnico II Pro's ?

Was thinking of getting a set and putting in one of my LP's. I have loved a set of pickups I have from MCP with alnico 2 magnets. Figured these would rock just like the others. I've been through 2 other sets of pickups, both with alnico 5 magnets and I can tell i prefer alnico 2.

can anyone with expiernce with them tell me abou them?

I've got one in the bridge of my PRS CE22. Love it. More vintagey than the JB in my CE24. It's a great, fat sounding pickup, but not dull at all. It coil taps really well for me. I think I've got a 1meg pot in that guitar, and it's output for days with that setup.

I had an SG with Pearly Gates in bridge and Alnico II Pro in neck. Very sweet set.

I had the set in a Slash Goldtop. I changed them for Rebel yells and I'm much happier.

The pickups are ok, especially the neck I really liked. But I found the bridge lacking for heavy tones... It really is a low output pickup. And for that I have a BKP Mule, which copes the GNR tones even better than the Alnico Pro.

Love em in my epiphone LP.. I really love the crunch on the bridge. It just has great note seperation and is really raw.

have them in the neck of most of my LPs for a reason. i love that tone.
