Anyone use the Blackstar Amped 1 or 2? Opinions?

I'm tossing around snagging an Amped2. I've listened to a ton of clips. I think it sounds good. I do think they dropped the ball by not being able to switch between a dedicated clean and gain channel.
Third Rock had one BTW when I was in there Saturday.

Oh man, awesome! Yeah there is so many units out there for everything under the Sun and getting lost in the sauce, lol.

Yeah. I've got a DSL20CR that I play sometimes and while I don't love it, it got much better when I put a V30 I had laying around in it. But I have a Mojotone Canyon 1x12 with a Neo-Creamback in it and I was thinking the the Amped2 would be a cool and easy setup.

So you can't hit one switch and go clean and another and have a distorted sound?

I’ve got the Amp 1 , bought it to use as a preamp with the Soldano SLO pedal and it works fantastic. I didn’t utilize any of the the others features so I’m no help there . Just purchased a new amp so the Amp 1 is for sale

Not the way I understand it. The "Drive" button engages whatever OD option it's on. I may be wrong though.

I've heard good things about that one too. I can't keep up with all of the pedals these days but cool having so many options!!

They just sent me an amped 2, and also the dept 10 dual distortion.
The short version is, amped1 is basically a preamp for powering stuff like a headrush, amped2 is a multifx 100w amp, essentially a 1 channel amp (like their artisan as an example)) and amped 3 is a 3 channel amp, no fx

So, running the dual distortion first, into the amped 2, with the amped 2 on a clean tone, gives you all the fx, 4 channels, and valve distortion and crunch, it’s rather great

Oddly, you can run it like a pedal into the input, or into the fx return. Interestingly, the amped 2 eq still works when you use the fx return, even though everything says it doesn’t

Yes, but the drive on it is more like a pedal, rather than valve/tube drive. It’s still a great sounding unit mind I have it set to boost and use a dual distortion in front
