The guy doesnt have any pics available, its selling for about 150US, do cheap as, but if it sucks, then not so cheap.
Headstock was damaged across the front through the logo area so the USA is worn off or never there, he says it doesnt say where its made on the back of the headstock
Was the import models still 27 fret? and are they bad enough to avoid at all costs?

Also its got the humbucker/Single Coil combo.
was the imports also with this setup? since some of the cheap ones ive seen in my quick search around seem to be H-H

I could swear that I played a neck thru/set neck Californian back in the early 90's...am I crazy or did they make these?

From what I have heard, the Californian was inspired by the Rand Guitars of the mid/late 80's. The similarities are obvious (the Californian has a less radical shape though)...probably worth your while to check out a Rand if you can find one.

There were several set neck Calis produced, nope not crazy.

Still could be an import. The USA versions came with SD Trembucker pups which have the dual rectangular pole pieces. Find out if it has those, if it doesn't, ask what are in it.
