Just curious, not much talk on here about them. BTW i love my Stage 2 Stiletto.

Absolutley

I miss mine terribly

One of the best amps ive ever played thru

I played a stage II a few weeks ago. It was ok, i guess for around $1100 on the used market it's not a bad deal. Once i played some of the modded Camerons and Fortins i really lost any interest in the Stiletto's.

yep, i miss mine. but really to be a keeper, i'd like to see what a depth mod would do for them.

they are just voiced so high, and really hard to get lowend out of them.

the stage II's tracked fast as fuck, in tight mod i'd say faster than a VHT. definantly not your grandpa's recto.

+1 I plan on getting another one some day and when I do its going to FJA for a depth mod and other doo-dads

Took me about 2 months to dial that thing in good. Plus i had to put a GEQ in da loop to boost the low end.

Good call on the depth mod. I'd love to hear what someone like Jerry (FJA) could do with one. I really liked the Stage II I played however.

One of the best Stiletto vids Ive ever seen right here

ive never had the chance to play through one but have always wanted to. next time i see one in gc or somewhere im definitely stopping to check it out.

I love mine, it's the tone I had in my head for a long time with the band. Thats the key to this amp though (with the band), it can sound pretty thin on it's own. My new bass player really knows tone and our live sound is pretty massive, he fills out the low end. It can be tricky to dial in though.

I had a Trident that I picked up in near new condition from a forumite. I really liked it and I'm a dumb shit for selling it.

I hated mine the first couple months I owned. I was trying to sell it those couple months too. I couldnt give it away. Then I dialed it in...awesome  . Really wanted a mark III and couldnt aford both amps. GAS got the best of me

I think they are great amps
Not at first for me though. I fought with the bright/harsh demons residing in it for a while before I finally got it dialed in.
Last February I took another step forward by replacing the V30s in my Recto cab with some of Jim Seavall's Scumback M75s.
Awesome!!! I'm convinced now the the V30s were a bad match for the Stiletto.
Recently I added an adjustable bias mod from Mansfield Guitars and am proud to say that the last of the demons have been exorcised!!!
I am super happy with my rig now.

I love mine but as others have stated...it could use a depth mod. Its razor sharp and when dialed in right just kicks major ass.

I actually run mine with a v30 loaded diezel cab and still don't think it's harsh or lacking low end in a band context. I do run my presence and treble pretty low and run it spongy with tube rectifiers. Mines an ace too which are supposed to be a little brighter. I think the biggest trick with the stiletto is to run the output really high and the masters lower. I run my bass pretty high but I get plenty of low end for what I'm doing. I prefer my ace to both quickrods and any jam 800s I had in the past.

i had a Triple Recto and a Stage II Trident at the same time, and the hype about them sharing a stage is no BS!

damn they paired together good! could hear the other amp plain as day when standing right in front of the other one.

+1 on the posted clip rocking! some guy used to have a Down Lifer clip on Youtube done with a Stiletto, and it just killed.

I pulled out 2 V30s in my recto cab and replced them with Celestion T75s. That helped alot too.

I REALLY want to get an old 2 channel dual recto and have em running together!

Played thru a roadster and a trident together. SICK

I have a Series One Trident and a Tremoverb and well also confirm the two amp voices work very well together. With two guitar players or single guitar player running two amps.

As many have stated and I well add pretty much all Mesa amps require you to set them up correct to get the best results.
