Anyy love for the MESA Stiletto ?

I loved the way the stage II deuce sounded, it did extremely well for lower tunings because it tracked so fast and was voiced without much flab. Would kill in a live rig for low-tuned stuff i reckon.

damn they paired together good! could hear the other amp plain as day when standing right in front of the other one.

+1 on the posted clip rocking! some guy used to have a Down Lifer clip on Youtube done with a Stiletto, and it just killed.

I REALLY want to get an old 2 channel dual recto and have em running together!

They are a GREAT Combination to me. Both amps cover different areas of the tonal spectrum. Sound like they were made to be run together. :D

I had a series one trident and I found the high end to be ear piercingly harsh..it sounded good, but i couldn't live with the fatiguing highs and mids...

but for a more British flavor i really liked the Electra-Dyne! Killer mesa/marshall flavor!

Nice rig bigkahuna if we ever get some label support behind us my touring rig would look very similar to that!

Thanks Bro...I purchased that as a gift for myself after several years of over seas work. Another interesting note - That QuickRod is currently with Dave Friedman and the Marshall VM is heading out to Mike Fortin this week. I am really, really fired up about that.

  :D

Did you try a few different tubes in V1 ??? ..... it made a lot of difference for me. I run the treble and presence very low, pretty much always below 10 o'clock and the power section turned up. If not doing this I agree it is very easy to get harsh sounds from the Stiletto ..... this is also true of many of the family of amps the Stilettos are based on ...... the vintage English crunch amps.

I love my Stage II Deuce. Spongy mode with the presence and treble at about 7 oclock. Tite gain mode is good classic rock - 80' metal sound. Liquid gain mode can get downright brutal. You definitely need to keep the presence and treble almost off though. Plus I scored mine for $900 shipped with a roadcase. :)

Thats really cool, especially the QR what are you having done to it?

I had a brief bonber for a "Still-Ghetto" Stage II but it ended prematurely...

:D

I had a version 1 that I liked. Sounded great when I brought it out and played in a band situation. Not the most friendly home amp unless you can turn it up a bit without getting complaints.

Volume control in the loop. Put the master at 12 oclock and it sounds good at mouse fart levels.

I wish I would have tried that. I wasnt using fx at the time so I never even considered the loop. Was trying to work with as little as possible.

I just run a little reverb in the loop. I found that takes a little edge off the amp, in a good way.

i don't know why you guys discuss all this different gear. tone is in the hands...lol

I am currently running a very similar rig myself (gcx, gcp, G major, line 6 wireless) however, when I set the Stiletto and the Triple Rec to run together I get a phase issue. I purchased a phase splitter and the problem is as follows. Triple rec distortion - Stiletto distortion all is good. Triple rec clean - Stiletto clean phase issue. Use the phase splitter and Triple rec clean and stiletto clean is all good but now the Triple rec distortion and the Stiletto distortion has a nasty phase issue.
Any advice on how your running your rig would be appreciated. Thank you
