this clip was made with the free Ampkit download from itunes.
les paul and my apogee jam were used along with my ipad2.

After i made this recording with the free app i purchased the full Ampkit+ for 20 bucks.

i used my iphone 3gs and Fire to make a quick recording of the sound coming out of the ipad2.

That's great. I have the same setup, although I got refunded for the ampkit+. I wasn't going to keep it at first but after playing with it for awhile, I want to keep it now. It's still on my ipad but not sure how long it'll stay there before it's yanked.

The first one was done with Ampkit free using the default amp ( you only get one amp in the free version) on the lead setting.

The second clip was done using the same amp after i purchased ampkit+ but with the delay i had to purchase for 4.99, yes the delay doesn't come with ampkit+.

Loved the playing in the 1st clip. You rip pal! I have the Jam also and mainly run the direct out of my power amp to record. It is a very inexpensive and invaluable tool for scratch-padding guitar parts. Running straight into either my iPad or iPhone is great for late night sessions. Amazing to think you can now run your phone through a PA system as a viable backup option at a gig.

Jeez that sounded rediculous! Wow...what amp / cab model was it? Thanks for sharing...

Great playing as always dude!!
I used Ampkit back in March and thought it was good but in the last couple of weeks i tried it again and love it so much i have bought almost every amp and effect they have.
I don't even have the Apogee Jam, i have just been using the Ampkit Link but i am going to get the new Line6 Mobile IN to use with Ampkit and obviously with the free Line6 app as well.
So much usefull fun shit out there

I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that the best clip I've heard all day was from a phone!!

Thanks!

the free iphone/iPad audio file recording fire app is called Blue Fire. http://itunes.apple.com/app/blue-fire/id336713577?mt=8
paid for, it turns into Fire.

note: don't pay attention to the person reviewing it on the page, files are transferred easily via wifi.

In the first clip were you using a mic plugged into the iphone? Something picked up the pick hitting the strings. I need to catch up with all this tech stuff!

i recorded the first clip using my iphone. it recorded the sound coming out of my ipad2 in the room.

guitar-> apogee jam-> ipad2 using ampkit -> sound coming out of the ipad2 -> iphone 3gs was set in record mode using the app Fire. so the first clip was recorded using the built in mic of my iphone. :)

Ok cool. I was reading that Blue Fire link and it was talking about using it with a mic. Wasnt sure if you were using something besides that built in mic. Recording into GB?

Just picking up the iPad speakers....hmm. Are they pretty decent? My Macbooks are pretty crappy (at least compared to my studio monitors its always hooked too. :)
