G12T-75 speaker in a 1x12 combo. Eek.

Yup...soon as I saw that I was like.... :(

Head version should be great though.

it probably sounded good w/the 75, I'm guessing they at least tried some different speakers. I use my archon in the 50 watt mode, sounds killer

This is going to make sell my evh, I'm to old for this shit

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the Archon family of amps.

$1699 for the head.

$1749 for the combo....

hmmm. These sound very interesting!

I've only heard live with alter bridge, way too compressed for me

I've not had a chance to try one; is there an amp it's analogous to? Kinda hard to really tell in the videos.

I hear Boogie recto somewhat but it seems to enhance the bad points of the Boogie .Like thick and bloated and then buzzy gain structure. I don't did it either but clips are clips .Have to play one
I think some of the Ubers sounds much better

I thought i would update I actually got a chance to plug into one of these today .it was actually much better than most of the clips.
I ran it through a 5153 cab and it was definitely more open sounding ,defined. I started with it plugged into a Marshall 1960 and it sounded like the clips harsh and muddy
I would not call it great for classic rock or even 80s pop metal but for a modern sound it was pretty big and mean.
It has a ton of gain in the lead channel easily a 5153 but with a thicker low mid and super tight punchy bottom.
Reminded me of a Bogner a lot of ways

It's funny how different speakers can change things, so for my prior comments the amp is actually pretty decent with the right cab and taking time to dial it in

Did you plug into the 50watter or the 100?

It was the 100
I don't think the 50s are out yet .

or the subject of compression yes it is compressed but yes not as much as some of the other high gainers. Turn up the master turn down the pre I think i had it 12 and 1 o'clock.
I would bet with el34s you could probably lower the pre amp further.

Im really curious about this amp. The clean sounds amazing and the overdrive channel too in some clips Ive heard, and for the price? approx 1500 or so is great!

Most clips are just chugga chugga metal stuff which I don't play at all. However the amp seems to have an inherent smoothness in the overdrive which I like. Sort of Mark series, dumbly sounding kind of gain no? just a tad.

Anyways to those who have played it why did or why didn't you like it? How versatile is the overdrive channel?
