are Mesa 12ax7's rebranded 9th Gens?

My amp came with mesa 12ax7's and i'm wondering what tubes they actually are

the tube says 'Mesa Chinese' on it

I'm guessing they might be rebranded 9th Gens?

any info would be great

i believe all Mesa tubes are just rebranded with their name on them. i would venture to guess they are just rebranded 9th Gen Chinese .

Rebranded JJ's. Got a drawer full of them....good tubes.

It depends on when they were rebranded. Mesa has rebranded Sovtek, EH, Chinese and now they're rebranding JJ preamp tubes. The Chinese are probably 7th, 8th or 9th gen.

I've never seen a chinese that wasn't shuguang
I don't think there's any other working tube factory there (yet)

My Mesa AX7's actually have screened "chinese" below the Mesa screened logo....but I did specify chinese when I ordered them from mesa.

I had one Mesa 12AX7 and it sounded like crap.

Came across another one, and it currently sits in my amps V3 spot.

The most recent Mesa branded 12ax7's I got were undoubtedly JJ ecc83S.

Mesa has bounced around a lot on which tubes they put their name on. You need to look at the internals to match them up with manufacturer.
